Who should do this course

The CITB Health and Safety Awareness (HSA) Green Labourer Card CSCS course is for those who have entered, or are about to enter, the construction and civil engineering industry as a member of the workforce to help them understand the potential hazards that they face at work on site.

Assessment

How someone is measured

For the successful completion of training, delegates must complete an end of course assessment that measures all learning outcomes and meets the pass criteria for each.

The method of formal assessment considered appropriate for training delivered against this standard is by a paper of 9 questions based on one question per assessment criteria point within the learning outcomes with a bank of 2 sets of question papers. Delegates must achieve 75% correct answers to pass.

Assessment of this learning outcome must cover the delegates ability to:

    • explain how to identify the training needs for individuals on site
    • describe two or more training techniques appropriate to the workplace
    • explain how knowledge of different learning styles can assist when training individuals in the workplace, giving an example of a relevant learning styles model to aid the explanation
    • describe a method of evaluating the effectiveness of training
    • describe how to maintain training records in the workplace

Explain how to coach an individual in an organisation

Assessment of this learning outcome must cover the delegates ability to:

    • explain how to identify the coaching needs for individuals in the workplace
    • explain how to plan the coaching for an individual in the workplace
    • explain the importance of feedback in coaching
    • describe a method of evaluating the effectiveness of coaching in the workplace

The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) is the industry training board for the UK construction industry. It’s their job to help the construction industry attract talent and to support skills development, to build a better Britain.
