Designed to give people the knowledge and confidence to teach in the post 16 education sector, perhaps as a trainer in the private training industry or as a teacher/lecturer in further education, this qualification replaces the old PTLLS course in certifying people to teach at a nationally accredited standard.
The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is the updated version of the Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) certification. The two are often used interchangeably, though there are some minor differences. The Level 3 AET has a different name and some of the course content included is refreshed and tweaked from the PTLLS. The PTLLS is now defunct, so only the Level 3 AET is available to learn.
