CITB Health & Safety Awareness Course for the Green CSCS Card and Construction Labourer Jobs
The CITB Health & Safety Awareness Course is a one-day CSCS course for people starting out in construction, returning to site work, or needing the recognised training linked to the Green CSCS Labourer Card. It is designed to give candidates a practical understanding of construction site hazards, safe working practices, and the responsibilities workers have to protect themselves and others on site. CITB states that this course highlights potential hazards when working on site and provides practical advice on keeping yourself and your colleagues safe.
Often searched for as a Green CSCS card course, CSCS labourer course, or Health and Safety Awareness course for CSCS card, this training supports candidates who need the health and safety awareness element associated with applying for the Green CSCS Labourer Card. CITB and CSCS both connect the Health & Safety Awareness course to the Green Labourer card route, alongside the Operatives Health, Safety and Environment Test.
During the course, candidates build knowledge of health, safety, welfare, and environmental awareness in construction. They learn about accident prevention, legal responsibilities, risk assessments, method statements, and how to report unsafe acts or conditions. CITB describes the course as covering the need to prevent accidents, health and safety law, how a worker’s role fits into site risk control, and how to report unsafe acts to prevent accidents.
This course is ideal for labourers, new construction starters, and anyone who needs a recognised construction health and safety course before moving on with work on site. We deliver the course at training centres in Stoke, Derby, Manchester, and Liverpool. We can also deliver onsite nationwide, and through our managed service and partner network we can often help employers arrange local course options across the UK.
The Health & Safety Awareness course is only one part of the Green CSCS card route, so many candidates book their HS&E Test at the same time and sit both course and test on the same day with us at our centres.
