CITB Directors' Role for Health & Safety (DRHS)
One day for directors and senior managers on the duties that sit with them, and what happens when they are not met.
About this course
This one day interactive course has been designed for company directors and senior managers active in a strategic health and safety role in the built environment.
Its aim is to recognise directors' duties of care, and the implications of non-compliance with health and safety legislation.
Interactive group exercises let delegates share and discuss their health and safety responsibilities in an open forum.
- The moral, economic and legal costs and implications of decisions that may make their business liable
- The importance of managing health and safety risks strategically
- The consequences of failing to manage health and safety effectively, including the need for competent duty holders and effective cooperation, communication and coordination on projects
- The need to appoint competent health and safety assistance, and the limitations of this
- How to identify the basic tools to introduce a proactive health and safety culture into an organisation, and the benefits of this approach
