Mandatory: Deep, current experience selling health and safety training to other training providers and to organisations that buy at volume. This is not a role we will train somebody into, and applications without that track record will not get past the first read.

Why the requirement is so blunt

Because this is a relationship business and the relationships already exist.

  • The people who buy this way know each other. They buy on trust and on a phone call, not on a brochure
  • The pricing conversation is different from a retail booking, and getting it wrong once is expensive and hard to undo
  • You will be talking to people who deliver training themselves, so you need to be able to hold a technical conversation about accreditation, awarding organisations and capacity without reaching for somebody else

What the job actually is

  • Open and grow accounts with training providers who need delivery capacity, accreditation, or courses they do not run themselves
  • Win volume agreements with consultancies and large employers, including framework and preferred supplier arrangements
  • Work out what we should be selling that we are not, and say so
  • Keep the pipeline honest. We would rather see a small accurate forecast than a large optimistic one
  • Represent Acadame where these buyers actually are, which means being out rather than on email

What you will have behind you

  • Four centres in Stoke-on-Trent, Manchester, Liverpool and Derby, plus delivery on client sites nationally
  • Our own eLearning, authored in house rather than bought off the shelf, which is a genuine differentiator in this market
  • A course catalogue that runs from awareness through CITB Site Safety Plus and NEBOSH to NVQs at Level 7
  • A team that answers the phone, so what you sell gets delivered

What we are not looking for

  • A general B2B salesperson who will learn the sector on the job
  • Somebody who wants to sit behind a CRM and send sequences
  • A consultant looking for a retainer

How this goes

  1. You send us your application. We read it properly
  2. A first conversation, usually a video call, where we talk about money openly rather than at the end
  3. A second meeting, in person, where you meet the people you would be working with
  4. References, and a start date that works around whatever notice you owe somebody else

Apply for this role

Tell us who you have sold this kind of training to, and roughly what it was worth. That is the part we will read first.

Please do not attach a CV here. We will ask for one by email once we have read this. What you send us is used to consider you for this role and nothing else: see our privacy notice.
