Driver Safety eLearning
Online driver safety training for people who drive for work, because driving is the most dangerous thing most employees do, and health and safety law does not stop at the office door.

- Anyone responsible for a driving-at-work policy

Your legal duty
The law behind driver safety training
Driving for work sits inside health and safety law. The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 requires employers to ensure the health and safety of employees at work so far as is reasonably practicable, and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 require the risks to be assessed, including the risks of work-related road journeys.
Road traffic law applies alongside it rather than instead of it. The Road Traffic Act 1988 governs the driving itself; the health and safety duties govern how the employer plans, schedules and equips the work that produces the journey.
- Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 - sections 2 and 3
- Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 - risk assessment
- Road Traffic Act 1988 - the driving itself
- Grey fleet journeys in an employee's own car are still work journeys

How the course works

Where your own procedures, equipment and reporting lines need to be in the training, we can build that version for you.
For employers
Driver Safety training for a team
Grey fleet is where most employers are exposed, because those drivers are rarely inducted at all. An account lets you cover everyone who drives on business.
- One invoice instead of a card payment per person
- Licences allocated as people join, so induction is covered
- Completion and expiry reporting for your records
- Renewal reminders before certificates lapse
- Bespoke versions built around your own procedures
