The NPORS N244 Chipper course is designed to provide comprehensive training for individuals operating wood chippers in various environments. This programme covers essential aspects such as understanding industry-related hazards, adhering to safety protocols, and recognising operator responsibilities. Participants will gain practical knowledge of the chipper’s components, controls, and functions, ensuring efficient and safe operation. The course also emphasises the importance of conducting pre-operational checks, maintaining personal protective equipment (PPE), and implementing environmental considerations. Upon successful completion, candidates will be equipped with the necessary skills to operate wood chippers confidently and in compliance with current health and safety regulations.
The method of assessment is a three-step journey:
