Nebosh General

Studied for me Nebosh General in Feb 26 with Alan Starr. Very pleased with all the support from both Alan and Matt, very happy to have passed. I feel without the support this enabled me to get my Nebosh. The course was full of examples and scenarios, which gave a better insight of expectations and real life situations. Course Content
  • Understand the industry, associated hazards, and operator responsibilities under health and safety legislation.
  • Develop proficiency in using the manufacturer’s handbook for the specific machine.
  • Identify and explain the functions of major components and controls of the log handler.
  • Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturer and legislative requirements.
  • Safely mount and dismount the machine, adhering to recommended procedures.
  • Start and stop the engine, and safely move the machine off and stop it safely.
  • Configure the machine for travel and manoeuvre it safely across varying terrain in open and confined areas.
  • Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area.
  • Manoeuvre the machine to the work area and correctly configure it in readiness to carry out all tasks.
  • Carry out stacking/destacking tasks, load/unload logs onto transporting vehicles, fit and remove attachments, and perform end-of-shift and shutdown procedures.
Methods of Assessment

The method of assessment is a three-step journey:

A written assessment covering regulations, machine controls, and operational safety.

Candidates will demonstrate the safe operation of the tool, including pre-operational checks and performing tasks.

Candidates will showcase proper shutdown techniques to ensure safety and compliance.
