The NPORS N008 Pallet / Stacker Truck course is designed to equip operators with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to safely and efficiently operate pallet and stacker trucks. This comprehensive training programme covers key areas such as understanding the operator’s responsibilities, conducting pre-operational checks, manoeuvring within various environments, and adhering to relevant health and safety legislation. Upon successful completion, candidates will receive an NPORS-accredited certification, valid for five years, demonstrating their competence and commitment to maintaining high industry standards in warehouse and logistics operations.Health & Safety Ireland+3

Course Content
  • Understanding the industry and operator responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook.
  • Identifying different types of pallet/stacker trucks and their components.
  • Locating and understanding steering, driving, and braking controls.
  • Conducting pre-operational checks in accordance with requirements.
  • Safely mounting and dismounting the machine.
  • Starting, stopping, and safely moving the machine.
  • Configuring the machine for travel and manoeuvring safely. 
  • Carrying out lifting and load handling tasks.
  • Performing end-of-shift and shutdown procedures.
Methods of Assessment

The method of assessment is a three-step journey:

A written assessment covering regulations, machine controls, and operational safety.

Candidates will demonstrate the safe operation of the tool, including pre-operational checks and performing tasks.

Candidates will showcase proper shutdown techniques to ensure safety and compliance.
