Your legal duty
The law behind this training
This course is awareness training on fire safety in care homes in England and Wales, in line with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and government guidance for residential care premises. It does not replace your home's fire risk assessment, emergency plan, practical drills or fire marshal training.
One thing to be clear about: in a care home, many residents cannot escape on their own. Your actions in the first minutes, especially closing doors and following the plan, decide how safe they are.
- Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
- Building Safety Act 2022
- Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, articles 23 and 21
Practicalities
How the course works
For employers
Buying for a team
Buying for more than a couple of people is easier on an account: one invoice, licences you allocate as staff join, and a report of who has done what and when it expires.
- One invoice instead of one card payment per person
- Allocate licences as people join
- Completion and expiry reporting for your records
- Bespoke versions written around your own procedures
