Your legal duty
The law behind this training
This eLearning course covers the learning outcomes of the CITB standard Understanding the induction and onboarding of new staff in construction. It is Acadame's own course, not the CITB standard itself, and it does not lead to a CITB certificate or qualify for CITB grant.
One thing to be clear about: new starters are far more likely to be injured in their first weeks on a job. A good induction and onboarding is one of the simplest ways to keep them safe and keep them with you.
- Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
- Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006
Practicalities
How the course works
Would you rather have a tutor?
Prefer a tutor-led, certificated route? Our CITB Leadership and Management courses cover these topics in the classroom, carry a CITB certificate and can qualify for CITB grant.
For employers
Buying for a team
Buying for more than a couple of people is easier on an account: one invoice, licences you allocate as staff join, and a report of who has done what and when it expires.
- One invoice instead of one card payment per person
- Allocate licences as people join
- Completion and expiry reporting for your records
- Bespoke versions written around your own procedures
Inducting and Onboarding New Starters on Site: common questions
About 30 to 45 minutes, with no time limit: start it, pause it, and come back whenever suits. The certificate is issued as soon as you pass the end assessment.
Yes. Each lesson ends with short knowledge checks, then there is a 12-question assessment with a pass mark of 70% (9 of 12). You can retake it as often as you need.
The certificate is valid for 3 years, and we recommend a refresher every 3 years.
