Studied for me Nebosh General in Feb 26 with Alan Starr. Very pleased with all the support from both Alan and Matt, very happy to have passed. I feel without the support this enabled me to get my Nebosh. The course was full of examples and scenarios, which gave a better insight of expectations and real life situations. About Course

This CITB Leadership & Management course in Understanding the Induction and Onboarding of New Staff in Construction was developed by the construction specialists Acadame.

Delivered at our centre in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, virtually online or on-site; the purpose of this standard is to enable the delegate to develop the knowledge and understanding of organising and delegating in the workplace as required by a practising or potential site supervisor:

  • the phases of an induction and onboarding process
  • the effectiveness of an induction and onboarding process

 

It is recommended that this training standard is delivered in conjunction with Understanding the recruitment and selection of new staff in construction.

Leadership and management are key skills for all construction sites and an area where the industry has identified a need for greater support and training.

How Completing This Course Will Help You:
  • Introduction to the Organisation: Provide new staff with an overview of the organisation, including its mission, values, culture, and key personnel.
  • Health and Safety Orientation: Conduct health and safety orientation sessions to familiarise new staff with safety protocols, emergency procedures, and hazard identification.
  • Job Role and Responsibilities: Clearly communicate job roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations to new staff, ensuring clarity and alignment from the outset.
  • Training and Development: Identify training needs and opportunities for new staff, providing access to relevant training and development programs to support their success.
  • Integration and Support: Facilitate integration and socialisation of new staff into the team, providing opportunities for networking, mentorship, and peer support.
  • Feedback and Evaluation: Establish mechanisms for gathering feedback from new staff and evaluating the effectiveness of the induction process, making improvements as needed to enhance the onboarding experience.

Assessment of this learning outcome must cover the delegates ability to:

  • describe the phases of the induction and onboarding process in an organisation
  • list which legal aspects should be included in an organisation’s induction and onboarding process

Assessment of this learning outcome must cover the delegates ability to:

  • explain methods that could be used to record an individual’s progress during induction or onboarding
  • explain the benefits of a comprehensive and effective induction or onboarding process for both the employee and the organisation
  • explain how an induction and onboarding process could be evaluated

Methods of Assessment

The method of assessment is a one-step journey:

The method of formal assessment for this standard is by a paper of 5 questions based on one question per assessment criteria point.

Delegates must achieve 75% correct answers to pass.
