About this course
The renewal is the short route back to another card. It is one day rather than two, it is for somebody who already holds a CCNSG Safety Passport, and it exists because the industry would rather refresh an experienced hand than teach them the basics from scratch every three years.
It is not a lighter version of the same day. The content assumes you have worked on site since you last held the card, so the time goes on what has changed, on the habits that slip, and on the incidents the sector has had, rather than on introducing the law from the beginning.
The one rule that catches people out is the expiry date. The renewal is for a card that is still live. Once it has lapsed, the ECITB put you back on the full two day course, so a renewal booked a fortnight early is a great deal cheaper than one booked a fortnight late.

Who should attend?
For anybody who holds a CCNSG Safety Passport that has not yet expired and needs another three years on it. If yours has already lapsed, you need the full two day course instead.
Entry requirements. A current CCNSG Safety Passport. Bring it with you, or have the number to hand, because we have to check it. If it has expired you cannot sit the renewal.

The expiry date decides which course you need
In date, even by a day, means you can sit the one day renewal. Expired means the full two day course. That is the ECITB rule rather than ours and we cannot work round it, which is why we would rather you checked the card now than found out on the morning.
The 39 month card is new. Renewals from September 2026 carry three years and three months rather than three years, so there is a little grace built in for the next time round.
If you are not sure when yours runs out, send us the card number and we will check it for you before you commit to a date.

In date and the renewal is enough. Expired and it is the two day course, whatever the card says on the front.
