Stress in the Workplace eLearning
Online workplace stress training built around the six things employers can actually change: demands, control, support, relationships, role and change.
Who it is for
Who this stress in the workplace course is for
Work-related stress is a health and safety risk with a legal duty attached, not a personal failing. The employer's job is to assess it and act on the causes. This course explains what those causes look like.
- Line managers and supervisors
- HR teams and wellbeing leads
- All staff, as part of wellbeing training
- Anyone contributing to a stress risk assessment
- Shift and remote workers
- Small business owners managing a team

Your legal duty
The law behind stress in the workplace training
Work-related stress is a health and safety risk like any other. The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 require employers to assess the risks to health from work, and that includes the risk of ill health from work-related stress. The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 places the underlying duty to ensure health, safety and welfare.
There is no regulation named after stress, and no requirement to run this specific course. The obligation is to assess and control the risk, which is much easier when managers can name the causes.
- Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 - health includes mental health
- Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 - risk assessment
- No regulation is named after stress; the duty comes from the general risk assessment requirement
- Equality Act 2010 may apply where a condition amounts to a disability

How the course works
For employers
Stress in the Workplace training for a team
Stress risk assessment works best when managers across the business use the same framework. Training them together is the cheapest way to get there.
- One invoice instead of a card payment per person
- Licences allocated as people join, so induction is covered
- Completion and expiry reporting for your records
- Renewal reminders before certificates lapse
- Bespoke versions built around your own procedures
Wellbeing awareness sits alongside this and covers supporting a colleague. See the Mental Health and Wellbeing course →
Stress in the Workplace eLearning: common questions
Assessing risks to health from work is a legal requirement, and work-related stress is one of those risks. There is no separate stress regulation, but the duty applies just the same.
No, and the distinction matters. Pressure can be motivating; stress is the harmful response when demands exceed a person's ability to cope. The course separates them clearly.
No. It is awareness training about causes and responses. Someone struggling now should be supported through occupational health or their GP, not a 30-minute course.
Demands, control, support, relationships, role and change: the areas the course works through, because they are the ones an employer can actually alter.
About 30 minutes, with no time limit. Start it, pause it, and come back whenever suits. The certificate is issued the moment you finish.
Yes. It runs in a browser on any modern phone, tablet or computer, with nothing to install.
Yes. Open a business account and we invoice you for the licences, which you allocate as people need them, with completion reporting included.
