The Green Labourer CSCS card is exclusively intended for individuals engaged in labouring duties. If you work in a skilled occupation, kindly refrain from applying for this card. To identify the appropriate card for your specific occupation, we recommend using the CSCS Card Finder tool.
The Labourer card boasts a validity period of five years. While renewing this card is presently unavailable, you may apply for a new Labourer card upon the expiration of your existing one.
You should complete the CITB Health & Safety Awareness Course. We have one running weekly from our centre in Stoke-on-Trent. Alternatively you can complete an RQF Level 1/SCQF Level 4 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment.
All applicants must pass the CITB health, safety and environment test (HSE) for operatives or any other test relevant to your role. You can select this option when booking online or let the team know if you're booking over the phone.
The Operatives test ensures workers have a minimum level of health, safety and environmental awareness before going on site. This test covers the following five core knowledge areas:
The pass mark for the Operatives test is 90%. To pass, you need to answer at least 45 out of 50 questions correctly
The official CITB GT100 publication contains all of the content that is covered within the test in the form of questions and answers so that you can fully prepare for your test. It is also available as a digital download. There is a smartphone app which provides test simulations so you can practise answering knowledge questions against the clock and highlight the areas where further preparation is needed. The Operatives app is available in the 14 voiceover languages offered.
