Nebosh General

Studied for me Nebosh General in Feb 26 with Alan Starr. Very pleased with all the support from both Alan and Matt, very happy to have passed. I feel without the support this enabled me to get my Nebosh. The course was full of examples and scenarios, which gave a better insight of expectations and real life situations. Thanks so much Academe, I will be enrolling a few members of my management team to complete IOSH in the near future.

How do I apply for a Red Industry Placement CSCS Card?

Not sure when your card expires? You can either download the CSCS Smart Check app on App Store or Google Play to check any construction industry card displaying the CSCS logo, or you can use the online card checker.

To be eligible for this card, applicants must:

  • Be aged 16 or above
  • Be registered onto a qualification or training programme requiring a minimum of 30 days’ work placement
  • Have successfully passed the relevant Health, Safety and Environment Test within the last two years. For CSCS, SKILLcard and JIB-PMES, this will be the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Operative test. For ECS, it will be the ECS Health, Safety and Environmental Assessment.

Important note: The following card schemes offer the Industry Placement card.

  • Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS)
  • Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS)
  • Engineering Services SKILLcard
  • JIB Plumbing Mechanical Engineering Services (JIB PMES)

Visit the CSCS Industry Placement card support page for further information on identifying the correct T Level, Traineeship or other programme pathway and which card scheme to contact when applying for a card.

If you are a trainee registered to complete a construction-related vocational or academic qualification* which is acceptable for a skilled CSCS card upon completion, you should apply for the Trainee card instead.

*(or hold professional membership with a CSCS recognised Professional Body at an accepted level, please visit the Card Finder to view accepted levels/bodies)

All applicants must pass the CITB health, safety and environment test (HSE) for operatives or any other test relevant to your role. You can select this option when booking online or let the team know if you’re booking over the phone.

The quickest and most convenient way to apply for your Red Industry Placement CSCS card is via the CSCS online application service.

Applicants must provide proof of registration onto their T Level, Traineeship, or other programme.

Applicants must complete the Enrolment Evidence Form and upload it during the application process.

CITB Internet Test Centre (ITC)

An Internet Test Centre (ITC) is a centre approved by CITB to provide testing facilities for tests such as the Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) test and Managers and Professionals (MaPs) test as well as many more.

Completing the HSE tests is a step towards your CSCS card, you will also need your individual course or qualifications depending on which card you want, for example the Green Labourers CSCS card you will have to have completed a Level 1 H&S or CITB Health & Safety Awareness Course and a CITB HS&E Operatives Test to apply for your Green Labourers CSCS card.

View the different coloured cards to view which qualifications and CITB Tests you require or head over to the CSCS Card Finder for a more detailed search.
