GQA Blue Skilled Worker CSCS Q-Card

In January 2015, the Construction Leadership Council (CLC) made a unanimous decision to endorse card schemes bearing the CSCS logo. This directive applies to all sectors of the industry, including trade associations, contractors, clients, and government entities, with no alternatives being considered.

 

GQA’s Q-Card is a collaborative partner program alongside CSCS and holds exclusive responsibility for the Glazing/Fenestration and Glass-related industries.

 

The validity period of this card is five years, and to apply for it, you must have successfully obtained your occupational qualification and completed the HSE Test within the past two years.

How to apply

To apply for your GQA Blue Skilled CSCS Q-Card You need to prove you have the training and qualifications required for the type of work that you carry out on site.

Operatives HSE Test
£42.50 + Vat*

*Broken down as £22.50 test fee. £20 admin fee

Step 1

Complete a construction related NVQ/SVQ or apprenticeship

Achieved a construction related NVQ/SVQ level 2 or SVQ at SCQF level 5.
or
Completed an apprenticeship, such as an Employer sponsored apprenticeship, a City and Guilds Craft Certificate (CGLI) or a CSCS Approved Apprenticeship Standard.

Step 2

Complete the HSE Test for Operatives

If you aren't sure which HS&E test is relevant to your occupation, use the Card Finder to find the relevant route.

Step 3

Apply for your GQA Blue Skilled Worker CSCS Card

The Q-Card can be requested by completing an application form which can be obtained by email on info@gqaqualifications.com or by calling 01142-720033.


Application forms will be checked, processed and if all is correct, a card will be issued, normally within 7 working days. All GQA CSCS Q-Cards cost £30.

About the Operatives HS&E test

The Operatives test ensures workers have a minimum level of health, safety and environmental awareness before going on site. This test covers the following five core knowledge areas:

  • Working environment
  • Occupational health
  • Safety
  • High risk activities
  • Specialist

The pass mark for the Operatives test is 90%. To pass, you need to answer at least 45 out of 50 questions correctly

 

The official CITB GT100 publication contains all of the content that is covered within the test in the form of questions and answers so that you can fully prepare for your test. It is also available as a digital download. There is a smartphone app which provides test simulations so you can practise answering knowledge questions against the clock and highlight the areas where further preparation is needed. The Operatives app is available in the 14 voiceover languages offered.
