Six short modules covering who does what under CDM, the documents the Regulations require, and the point at which a project becomes notifiable.
What CDM covers
The scope of the Regulations, including domestic projects and small works.
The duty holders
Client, principal designer, designer, principal contractor, contractor and worker.
Client duties
Making suitable arrangements, allowing adequate time and resources, and providing pre-construction information.
Design and the principal designer
Eliminating and reducing risk through design, and co-ordinating the pre-construction phase.
Construction phase planning
The construction phase plan, site rules and welfare requirements.
Notification and the health and safety file
When a project is notifiable, and what the file has to contain and why.

The law behind cdm awareness training
The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 set out duties for clients, designers, principal designers, principal contractors, contractors and workers across the whole life of a construction project. They apply to all construction work, including domestic projects, where the client's duties normally pass to the contractor or principal contractor.
Notification to HSE is required where construction work is scheduled to last longer than 30 working days with more than 20 workers working simultaneously at any point, or exceeds 500 person days. Notification does not change the duties. It simply tells the regulator the project exists.

CDM Awareness eLearning: common questions
Yes. CDM 2015 applies to all construction work regardless of size, including domestic projects. What changes with size is whether the project is notifiable and how the client's duties are handled.
CDM applies to domestic projects, but the client duties normally transfer to the contractor, or to the principal contractor where there is more than one contractor. The course explains how that works.
