Nebosh General

Studied for me Nebosh General in Feb 26 with Alan Starr. Very pleased with all the support from both Alan and Matt, very happy to have passed. I feel without the support this enabled me to get my Nebosh. The course was full of examples and scenarios, which gave a better insight of expectations and real life situations. About the NPORS N140 Compact Crane

The NPORS N140 Compact Crane qualification is designed to provide operators with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to safely and efficiently operate compact cranes. This comprehensive training covers key areas such as understanding industry hazards, conducting pre-operational checks, setting up exclusion zones, and adhering to relevant legislation including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, PUWER, and LOLER regulations. Through a blend of theoretical instruction and hands-on practice, candidates will learn to operate compact cranes in compliance with safety standards, thereby enhancing workplace safety and operational efficiency. Successful completion of the course leads to NPORS certification, valid for five years.

  • Learn about relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice affecting crane use.
  • Identify and explain the functions of major compact crane components and safety devices.
  • Conduct thorough pre-operational and operational checks in line with manufacturer guidelines.
  • Prepare and operate the compact crane safely, including hoisting, slewing, and travelling.
  • Follow approved lifting plans and communicate effectively using signals and instructions.
  • Identify hazards such as proximity to overhead power lines and implement exclusion zones.
Methods of Assessment

The method of assessment is a three-step journey:

A written assessment covering regulations, machine controls, and operational safety.

Candidates will demonstrate the safe operation of the tool, including pre-operational checks and performing tasks.

Candidates will showcase proper shutdown techniques to ensure safety and compliance.
