Nebosh General

Studied for me Nebosh General in Feb 26 with Alan Starr. Very pleased with all the support from both Alan and Matt, very happy to have passed. I feel without the support this enabled me to get my Nebosh. The course was full of examples and scenarios, which gave a better insight of expectations and real life situations. Thanks so much Academe, I will be enrolling a few members of my management team to complete IOSH in the near future.

  • seeking feedback on workplace performance to identify strengths, weaknesses and areas for improvement

Leadership and management are key skills for all construction sites and an area where the industry has identified a need for greater support and training.

  • prepare an action plan to address weaknesses and improve performance
    • There is an explicit linkage between the previous interpretation of feedback and the resulting action plan to address the identified weaknesses, providing a clear reason for the latter
    • The prepared action plan is comprehensive and detailed, complete with objectives, time scale, etc and additionally shows awareness of resource issues and review
    • The action plan addresses the weaknesses in a way that has the potential for a significant improvement in performance
Methods of Assessment

The method of assessment is a one-step journey:

The method of formal assessment for this standard is by a combination of a question paper and a professional discussion.

The question paper consists of 4 questions based on one question per assessment criteria point within the first learning outcome with a bank of 2 sets of question papers. Delegates must achieve 75% correct answers to pass.

The second learning outcome should be assessed by a scenario based practical exercise followed by a professional discussion where the delegate must demonstrate competence of all assessment criteria points.
