This course will provide you with the necessary theoretical training required to be a qualified fire warden. Course Content
Why is fire safety important, fire safety law, how is the law enforced, employer duties, fire warden responsibilities, how many fire wardens do businesses need, and how to prepare for your role.
The fire triangle, classes of fire, dangerous substances, hazard labelling and packaging, and safety data sheets.
What is a risk assessment, key definitions.
Fire prevention measures, duties of manufacturers and suppliers of machines and equipment, fire detection and warning systems, duties of manufacturers, importers, and distributors of electrical equipment, fire extinguishers, and fire blankets.
Requirements of evacuation routes, emergency lighting, and fire signs.
Fire emergency plans, general evacuation procedures, evacuation procedures for vulnerable people, fire warden duties during evacuations, and fire drills.
Fires can be placed into different classes depending on what material is burning.
Methods of Assessment

The method of assessment is a two-step journey:

The tutor splits the course into two components. You will first attend a classroom theory component.

Delegates will also have to complete a short written assessment at the end of the course.

The practical element includes a demonstration of the different types of extinguishers as well as fire safety signs around the building.
