  • Register with the ELC Scheme and ensure you meet the service requirements:
    • Minimum of 6 years of eligible service (4 years for service before April 2017).
    • Service leavers can claim funding up to 5 or 10 years post-discharge (depending on exit date).

  • Use the ELCAS Member’s Area to submit your claim at least 25 working days before your course start date. Provide your Claim Authorisation Note (CAN) during enrolment.

What Is the Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme (ELC)?

The ELC Scheme is an MOD initiative designed to foster lifelong learning by supporting service personnel and veterans in pursuing higher-level qualifications at Level 3 or above. Key benefits include:

    • Up to £1,000 (lower tier) for 6–8 years of service.
    • Up to £2,000 (higher tier) for 8+ years of service.
