About Course

The NEBOSH Health and Safety at Work Award course is a practical introduction to workplace health and safety, designed for people who need a clear understanding of risk, responsibilities, and safe working practices as part of their role. It is especially well suited to team leaders, supervisors, HR professionals, facilities managers, and those supporting workplace compliance and standards. NEBOSH describes it as an introductory qualification relevant to all industry sectors and suitable for anyone who needs to understand health and safety principles as part of their job.

Over three learning days, candidates build confidence in the core principles of workplace health and safety, including why health and safety matters, how it is managed, and how common workplace hazards can be recognised and controlled. The course also develops practical understanding of workplace inspections, risk assessment, and learning from incidents, giving candidates knowledge they can use straight away in real working environments.

At Acadame, we deliver the NEBOSH Health and Safety at Work Award from our training centres in Stoke, Derby, Manchester, and Liverpool, with onsite delivery available nationwide. Through our managed service network, we can also help open up more local training options for employers who want this course delivered closer to their teams.

This qualification is often chosen by businesses that want a recognised health and safety course for supervisors and managers without going straight into a larger certificate-level programme. It can also be a great first step for people who want to strengthen their health and safety knowledge before progressing further with NEBOSH study. NEBOSH itself positions this Award-level qualification as a strong introduction and a sound basis for further professional study.
