  • Gain a foundational understanding of the boat hoist operation industry, associated hazards, and the responsibilities of an operator.
  • Develop proficiency in using the manufacturer’s handbook for the specific boat hoist, ensuring adherence to operational guidelines.
  • Identify and explain the functions of major boat hoist components and controls, including power units, supporting beams, and safety systems.
  • Conduct thorough pre-operational and running checks in accordance with manufacturer and legislative requirements to ensure machine readiness.
  • Select and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for boat hoist operations, such as safety boots, buoyancy aids, and eye protection.
  • Prepare the boat hoist for use and operate the machinery safely and efficiently, including programming and setting RCI/LMI for different load duties.
