Our QNUK accredited team deliver the Level 3 Award in Education and Training in Stoke or on site nationally.
Designed to give people the knowledge and confidence to teach in the post 16 education sector, perhaps as a trainer in the private training industry or as a teacher/lecturer in further education, this qualification replaces the old PTLLS course in certifying people to teach at a nationally accredited standard.
The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is the updated version of the Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) certification. The two are often used interchangeably, though there are some minor differences. The Level 3 AET has a different name and some of the course content included is refreshed and tweaked from the PTLLS. The PTLLS is now defunct, so only the Level 3 AET is available to learn.
This course is designed for individuals who would like to start teaching or for those who are already teaching but need a nationally recognised teaching qualification for their career development.
It is designed for both the private training industry and post 16 educational institutes, and covers the generic teaching skills that are required in becoming an effective teacher/trainer.
Potential progression routes include the Level 4 Certificate in Education & Training (CTLLS) or the Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training (DTLLS).
The method of assessment is a two-step journey:
Learners will plan their own 15 minute micro teach lesson ready to deliver it.
After the classroom days learners have one year to complete essays at home / work. Templates are provided on the course to help make these easier.
