3 Day First Aid at Work Course For Workplace First Aiders, Compliance And Emergency Response
Acadame’s 3 Day Level 3 First Aid at Work course is a nationally recognised QNUK-accredited first aid qualification designed for employees who need to become a fully qualified workplace first aider. This First Aid at Work training course gives candidates the knowledge, practical skills and confidence to respond appropriately to a wide range of workplace injuries and medical emergencies.
Throughout the course, candidates learn how to assess incidents, manage unresponsive casualties, carry out CPR, use the recovery position, and provide first aid for choking, bleeding, burns, fractures, shock, head injuries, spinal injuries, chest injuries, anaphylaxis, poisoning and major illnesses such as heart attack, stroke, asthma attacks and diabetic emergencies. The assessment process follows a two-step journey:
Step 1. Practical Observations
Candidates will be observed to confirm that they can safely and effectively carry out key first aid procedures, including:

Demonstrating adult CPR using a manikin
Identifying when to place a casualty into the recovery position

Demonstrating first aid for external bleeding

Step 2. Multiple Choice Examination
Candidates will complete a 40-question multiple choice examination.
Pass mark: 28 correct answers
Maximum time allowed: 60 minutes
What Is A First Aid At Work Course?
A First Aid at Work course is a comprehensive workplace first aid qualification designed to train designated first aiders. It covers practical emergency response skills such as CPR, choking, bleeding control, burns, fractures, anaphylaxis and major illnesses.
Who Should Attend First Aid At Work Training?
This course is suitable for employees who are appointed to act as workplace first aiders, as well as supervisors, managers and staff working in higher-risk environments such as construction, manufacturing, warehousing and engineering.
Is This A 3 Day First Aid At Work Course?
Yes. This is a 3 day First Aid at Work course that provides more in-depth training than shorter emergency first aid courses and is intended for those with greater workplace first aid responsibilities.
What Qualification Will I Receive?
Successful candidates will achieve the QNUK Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work, a recognised workplace first aid qualification.
How Long Is The First Aid At Work Certificate Valid For?
The First Aid at Work certificate is valid for three years. Many employers also choose to arrange annual refresher training to help first aiders keep their knowledge and confidence up to date.
What Does The FAW Course Cover?
The course covers the role of the first aider, incident assessment, CPR, recovery position, choking, bleeding, shock, burns, fractures, spinal injuries, chest injuries, eye injuries, poisoning, anaphylaxis and major illnesses including heart attack and stroke.

Assessment includes practical observations throughout the course and a final multiple choice exam. Candidates must demonstrate practical first aid skills and achieve the required pass mark in the written assessment.
