This Manual Handling Awareness Course, delivered from the Acadame HQ in Stoke-on-Trent and across the UK, is organised by knowledgeable experts with industry experience. During this half-day course, you will be instructed on how to conduct a personal risk assessment, and how to understand the risks linked with manual handling. All our courses are delivered with the same attention to detail and quality.

This Manual Handling Awareness Course helps employers ensure that they and their employees are sufficiently trained in the principles and practices of safe manual handling.

It follows the requirements of the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 (MHOR) and provides a practical guide for managing and carrying out safe and healthy manual handling. The course also features videos, diagrams, and downloadable resources to use in your workplace.

Outline the costs to businesses and individuals associated with manual handling injuries
  • Outline the requirements of the following:
    • Health and safety at work act
    • Management of health and safety regulations
    • Provision and use of work equipment regulations
    • Lifting operation and lifting equipment regulations
  • Outline the consequences for not complying with health and safety legislation
  • Outline employee’s responsibilities related to the manual handling operations regulations
  • Outline employer’s responsibilities under the manual handling operations regulations
  • Identify manual handling operations within the work environment
  • Identify ways of avoiding manual handling operations
  • Outline the principles of a risk assessment

Methods of Assessment

The method of assessment is a one-step journey:

Assessment will be by multiple-choice question paper at the end of the course. Learners are also expected to actively participate during the course.
