Nebosh General

Studied for me Nebosh General in Feb 26 with Alan Starr. Very pleased with all the support from both Alan and Matt, very happy to have passed. I feel without the support this enabled me to get my Nebosh. The course was full of examples and scenarios, which gave a better insight of expectations and real life situations. Thanks so much Academe, I will be enrolling a few members of my management team to complete IOSH in the near future.

The Top Health and Safety Risks on Construction Sites

The Top Health and Safety Risks on Construction Sites

Running a construction site involves protecting the people who make that building possible. Health and safety training is a practical way to keep teams safe, confident, and working smoothly on-site. At Acadame, we offer a wide range of health and safety training to help make this possible.

Let’s face it, construction environments are full of challenges. One misstep on a wet surface or a poorly lit walkway can put someone out of action for weeks. Trips and falls are incredibly common, yet so preventable. With the right training, your team learns to notice and manage hazards before they become accidents, helping keep projects on track and workers injury-free.

Another frequent issue is manual handling. We’ve all seen it: a rushed lift, a load that’s just a bit too heavy, or someone trying to tough it out. But these small moments can lead to long-term problems like back injuries and strain. Structured health and safety training teaches the correct techniques and encourages safer habits, making a big difference day to day.

Working at height is also a top concern. Whether it’s a ladder or scaffolding, one missed step or unsecured harness can lead to disaster. A well-trained team understands how to approach these jobs with care, checking gear and sticking to procedures every time.

One area that deserves real attention is asbestos. While it may not always be visible, asbestos remains a serious risk on many older construction sites. Without the proper awareness, workers can unknowingly disturb materials and release fibres that pose long-term health dangers. Asbestos awareness courses help your team recognise the signs, understand where asbestos might be found, and take the right steps to stay safe. It’s a vital part of a complete health and safety training plan, particularly for those working on refurbishments or demolitions.

At Acadame, we understand that training needs to be practical and relatable. We deliver health and safety training that fits your team’s day-to-day challenges, helping them stay safe and work smarter. If your business is serious about keeping people protected, it’s time to invest in training that makes a difference.
