The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has published its annual workplace health and safety statistics for 2024/25, revealing that 1.9 million workers experienced work-related ill health over the past year. Mental health continues to dominate the figures, with 964,000 workers reporting stress, depression, or anxiety caused or worsened by work. Read the full press release here:
These statistics highlight what many businesses already know: pressures on workers, productivity, and organisational resilience remain significant. With 40.1 million working days lost and 680,000 non-fatal injuries reported, the challenge is clear — and the response must be proactive, structured, and competent.
At Acadame, we take these figures seriously. They reaffirm the importance of quality training, competent supervision, and a culture where safety and wellbeing are prioritised every single day.
How Acadame Helps Organisations Respond to These Challenges
1. Strengthening Competence Through High-Impact Training
We deliver NEBOSH, IOSH, CITB Site Safety Plus, NPORS and practical workplace safety courses designed to build confidence, competence, and safer ways of working. Every course is structured to reflect real-world environments and industry expectations.
2. Embedding Mental Health Awareness Into Training
With mental health issues continuing their upward trend, our programmes support managers and workers in recognising early signs of stress, applying reasonable adjustments, and encouraging open conversations within teams.
3. Reducing Avoidable Workplace Injuries
Competence is the foundation of safe working. Our training equips candidates to recognise hazards, make safer decisions, and prevent many of the incidents contributing to hundreds of thousands of annual injuries.
4. Helping Organisations Reduce Lost Working Days
Robust systems, clear processes, and competent staff help businesses operate safely and efficiently. Our training supports organisations in building frameworks that reduce absenteeism and operational disruption.
5. Delivering Quality and Reliability Across All Training
As a CITB ITC Centre with a UKAS-aligned Integrated Management System, we provide nationally recognised training supported by consistent standards, strong governance, and a commitment to continual improvement.
Moving Forward Together
Great Britain remains one of the safest places to work, but the latest HSE statistics show that challenges remain — particularly around mental health and long-term ill health.
The question now is how organisations respond.
Acadame is here to support businesses of all sizes in strengthening competence, improving wellbeing, and creating safer, healthier working environments.
