The NPORS N107 Lorry Loader qualification equips operators with the essential skills and knowledge to safely and efficiently operate lorry loader cranes across various industries. This comprehensive training programme combines theoretical instruction with practical exercises, covering key areas such as pre-operational checks, safe manoeuvring, load handling, and adherence to relevant legislation including LOLER and PUWER. Designed for both novice and experienced operators, the course ensures participants understand their responsibilities and the importance of safety in the workplace. Upon successful completion, candidates receive an NPORS-accredited certification, valid for five years, demonstrating their competence and commitment to industry standards.

  • Locate and understand all operating controls and their functions.

  • Conduct pre-operational checks in line with manufacturer and legislative requirements.

  • Configure the vehicle and loader crane for travel and manoeuvre safely across various terrains.

  • Perform safety checks at the work area and prepare the machine for lifting duties.

  • Deploy stabilisers correctly, including variations like swing-up stabilisers.

  • Comply with requirements for rated capacity indicators and load moment indicators.

  • Carry out lifting operations, position loads accurately, and secure them for transport.

Methods of Assessment

The method of assessment is a three-step journey:

A written assessment covering regulations, machine controls, and operational safety.

Candidates will demonstrate the safe operation of the tool, including pre-operational checks and performing tasks.

Candidates will showcase proper shutdown techniques to ensure safety and compliance.
