CITB grant, explained without a price list. We are an approved CITB provider, we submit claims on your behalf, and we will tell you what a course attracts at the rate in force this week rather than the one that was in force when this page was written.
How it works
CITB grant in four steps
1. Be registered and up to date
You have to be a CITB registered employer and compliant with your Levy Returns. If you are not sure whether you are, we can usually tell you in a phone call.
2. Check the course attracts grant
Not everything does. Tell us what you are booking and we will tell you what applies, at the rate in force that week rather than the rate that was in force when a page was written.
3. Train, and achieve
Grant is paid on achievement rather than attendance, so somebody who does not complete does not attract it.
4. We claim
As an approved CITB provider we submit claims on your behalf and chase them. You need your bank details lodged with CITB, because grant is paid by bank transfer.

The Skills and Training Fund closed in September 2025
The CITB Skills and Training Fund for micro, small and medium sized businesses closed to new applications on 30 September 2025, and CITB made further changes to how training activity is supported from 8 January 2026. Some grants that used to be reachable through a funding application are no longer available by that route.
That is the honest position rather than a tidy one, and it is exactly why we do not publish grant tables. If you had a Skills and Training Fund agreement, or you were planning around one, ring us and we will tell you where things stand now and what is worth doing instead.

CITB funding, answered
CITB registered employers who are up to date with their Levy Returns and meet the general Grants Scheme terms, plus the specific criteria for the grant in question. Short course grants cover directly employed staff and subcontractors.
It depends on the course or qualification and on the rate in force at the time, and CITB change both. We will give you the current figure for what you are actually booking rather than publishing a table here that goes out of date and misleads somebody six months from now.
Yes. We are an approved CITB provider and we submit claims on your behalf and follow them up. You need your bank details lodged with CITB, because grant is paid by bank transfer and a missing Bacs authorisation is the commonest reason a claim sits unpaid.
Achievement. Somebody who attends but does not achieve the course or qualification does not attract grant, which is worth knowing before you book a whole cohort.
It closed to new applications on 30 September 2025, and CITB made further changes to how training activity is supported from 8 January 2026. If you were relying on it, talk to us about what is available now.
For short course grants, CITB set out accepted delivery methods in the published course standard, including classroom, eLearning at a proportion of the published duration, and blended delivery. Which applies depends on the specific course, so check with us before you book on that basis.
Not with CITB grant, which is only open to registered levy payers. There may be other routes depending on who you are and what you are training, including ELCAS for service leavers and veterans, so it is still worth the conversation.
