CITB Temporary Works Co-ordinator (TWCTC)
Two days on co-ordinating temporary works, built around BS 5975 and the four Cs.
About this course
This two day course is designed to help those who have responsibility for managing all forms of temporary works on site.
It aims to improve the knowledge of the role and the temporary works environment. Its development was supported by several organisations including the Temporary Works Forum and the Health and Safety Executive.
It is not a technical awareness course for temporary works, although there are technical elements within it. The focus is the process of co-ordination.
- Understand the need for and duties of a temporary works co-ordinator
- Understand the role of others
- Have a detailed knowledge and understanding of BS 5975 in respect of this role
How completing this course helps you
- Hold a CITB Site Safety Plus certificate, recognised on sites across the UK
- Show the card checker and your employer that the training is current
- Renew before the five years are up rather than starting again
Who should attend?
For those who have on site responsibility for managing all forms of temporary works.
Entry requirements. None formally. Delegates must have a thorough understanding of health and safety principles, and understand the importance of risk management, design considerations, inspection and testing, and recording and monitoring requirements.

Method of assessment
How Temporary Works Co-ordinator (TWCTC) is assessed
There is an assessment. CITB set it for every Site Safety Plus course and it is taken during or at the end of the course.
Take part in full
CITB require full attendance across the 2 days before the assessment can be taken.
Sit the assessment
The CITB standard behind this course, GET3378, runs to 14 hours and 45 minutes including delivery and the examination. Ask us for the current format before you book if it matters to you.
Certificate
A CITB Site Safety Plus certificate, valid for five years. CITB classify this one as a mandatory refresher, so a refresher before it expires keeps it running rather than repeating the full two days.
